Clinical Support
Therapeutic care under a family systemic approach refers to a type of psychological intervention that focuses on the family system as a whole, rather than solely on the individual. This approach views the family as an interdependent communicating organism with patterns of interaction. In this context, the patient's problems or symptoms are seen as a reflection of the dynamics and conflicts within the family system. Therefore, the goal of therapy is to identify and change these problematic dynamics in order to improve the well-being of all family members, as opposed to classical psychotherapies, which focus on behavioral conflicts. In contrast, systemic family therapy focuses on the context in which the patient is immersed. It is important to mention that this approach is not limited to the nuclear family, but can also be applied to other significant social systems, such as organizations and social networks.
